Hand Drawn Map of Battery Delfzijl Positions

This is a modern, hand drawn map showing the gun positions, bunkers and out buildings associated with Battery Delfzijl in World War 2. Battery Delfzijl was the scene of very heavy fighting and was captured by the Cape Breton Highladers on May 1, 1945.

The map appears to be a very accurate representation of Battery Delfzijl. The water along the bottom is the Eems that separates Holland and Germany. The green strip along the bottom with the gun positions is the earthen dike. The brown strip along the dike is a path or narrow road. The large gray buildings on the far side of the gray road behind the dike are bunkers. The brown buildings in the centre are wooden buildings including barracks. North is pointing down.
