Two Unidentified Soldiers

94th Victoria Regiment "Argyll Highlanders"

Circa 1914-1918

The photo was probably taken somewhere in Cape Breton. The men are wearing standard 1903 Canadian seven button army issue service jackets, stanadard Model 1905 other ranks service dress caps, and Oliver pattern belts. Due to shortages of materials at the time, there are no items of their dress that would indicate they are from a highland unit. The men are holding what appear to be bolt action Ross rifles with fixed bayonets. Note the man on the left is missing his collar badges.
