The photo was probably taken during militia summer camp in Aldershot, NS. Note the young boy in the front row with a bugle. The majority, if not all of the men, would have been from Victoria County, Cape Breton.

Thanks to Don Anderson of Baddeck for providing access to another copy of the same photo. Don’s copy had the names of the men written on the back of the photo. The names above are based on a transcription of those names. Unfortunately there is a discrepancy in the names of the men in the middle row. There are fifteen men numbered on the back of Don’s photo with either their names or as being unidentified, but there are actually 16 men in the middle row. The list of names above is as per the back of Don’s photo.
