Pictured above is an example of a one piece other rank cap badge for the 219th Battalion. The badge is voided at the bottom and is made of a brass base metal with a brownish coating on the front. There is no coating on the back leaving the brass base metal exposed. This particular badge had two lugs removed and a pin and catch assembly installed through the centre line of the badge, below where the lugs had been. There is no manufacturer identified. The badge measures approximately 53mm wide x 64mm high. It is possible this badge was modified to be used as a kilt pin.
