Pictured above is an example of a non-standard one piece other rank cap badge for the 185th Battalion. The construction of the badge is identical to the standard OR badges above, but has a blackened silver coating. It is not clear who would have worn this badge but it has been theorized that it may have been created for a member of the pipe band. The badge has two lugs on the back. There is no manufacturer identified. It measures approximately 53mm wide x 64mm high.

Pictured above is an example of a non-standard one piece other rank cap badge for the 185th Battalion. The construction of the badge is identical to the standard OR badges above, but it is cut out around the center digits and has a frosted silver coating over the badge. A small piece of red felt is held in place behind the cut out digits on the back with a small round plate and two bent prongs. It is not clear who would have worn this badge but it has been theorized that it may have been created for a member of the pipe band. The badge has two lugs on the back. There is no manufacturer identified. It measures approximately 53mm wide x 64mm high.
