Cape Breton Highlanders

Camp Borden, Ontario

Circa Summer, 1941

The Cape Breton Highlanders trained in Camp Borden before being transferred to Debert, NS, and then overseas. On the right is Pte. Merv Stagg. Note the bugle hanging by a cord on his right hip. On the left is Sgt. Joe Petite Sr., also from North Sydney. Joe’s son and namesake also served in the Cape Breton Highlanders at the same time.
