George Saunders is on the left. His friend, eating an apple, is unidentified. It is believed the photo may have been taken around the Berwick area of King's County, NS. The 193rd Battalion was encamped at Aldershot. It was around this time that George met Mary Morse, his future wife, who was from Berwick.
