Two Soldiers

85th Battalion (Nova Scotia Highlanders)

Circa 1918-1919

A nice studio portrait photo of two 85th Battalion soldiers. The fact that they are wearing kilts and trimmed cap feathers would indicate that the photo would have been taken after June, 1918. There is some debate that the man on the left may be Pte. Gordon Forbes MacQuarrie. His facial features are very similar to the two known studio portait photos of Gordon MacQuarrie in Section 1. If it is Gordon MacQuarrie, then the photo would have had to have been taken between June and September, 1918. The man on the right is unidentified.
