This section contains a two page letter of condolence, dated September 16, 1918, pertaining to the death of Robert Lyons. The letter is addressed to Robert's wife, Catherine, and is from Pte. John Nicholson, an 85th Battalion comrade and close friend of Robert's who served in the same platoon. John Nicholson was born in Port Morien, near Glace Bay, Cape Breton, and sadly, was killed in action at Cambrai on September 27, 1918, only eleven days after he wrote the letter to Robert's wife.
