This section contains a two page letter of condolence, dated September 10, 1918, pertaining to the death of Robert Lyons. The letter is addressed to Robert's wife, Catherine, and is from Lieut. Alexander Daniel Archibald, commanding officer of Robert's company, "B" Company of the 85th Battalion (Nova Scotia Highlanders). Seven days after Lieut. Archibald wrote the letter, he was severely wounded in action resulting in the loss of a leg.
