Andrew Leo Hall - Section 4

This section contains photos of Andrew Hall's cap badge and armband for the Saskatchewan Veterans' Civil Security Corps, circa Second World War. Andrew Hall was an inspector in the organization.

The Saskatchewan Veterans' Civil Security Corps was created in 1940 to work with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and municipal police forces in the detection and suppression of activities deemed dangerous to the country and subversive to established authorities. The Corps' principal activities included gathering intelligence on persons and groups (including religious orders) thought to be conducting subversive activities or violating Defence of Canada Regulations; supporting civil governments and agencies in times of emergency; urging enlistment in military service; assisting in firearms registration; and encouraging the formation of local defence committees. In early 1945, the order was given for the Corps to stand down. (Definition taken from the Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan)
