The No. 9 Stationary Hospital recruited on campus in Antigonish and then mobilized in Halifax shortly before going overseas. The commanding officer of the unit was Lt-Col. Roderick C. McLeod. He is seated in a chair in the second row from the front, 22nd from the left.
Nursing Sister Monica Connell is probably one of the nurses in the photo.
