Cap and Collar Badges

76th Colchester and Hants Rifles

Pictured above is a cap badge and a pair of collar badges for the 76th Colchester and Hants Rifles. They appear to be brass with a dark brown or black coating that is partially worn off. It is believed this pattern of cap and collar badge was first worn during the First World War.

The cap badge is hollow backed with two prongs bent flat. There is no manufacturer identified. The badge measures approximately 34mm wide x 41mm high. It shows some tarnishing.

The collar badges are also hollow backed but with two lugs on each badge. There is no manufacturer identified. Each badge measures approximately 29mm wide x 28mm high.

Numbered Metal Shoulder Titles

76th Colchester and Hants Rifles

Pictured above is a matching pair of numbered metal shoulder titles for the 76th Colchester and Hants Rifles. They appear to be brass with a dark brown or black coating that is partially worn off. Each title has a pair of lugs on the back. They are maker marked "W. Scully Montreal" and measure approximately 28mm wide x 19mm high.
