This section contains two photos pertaining to the presentation of the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee Medal to members of the 2nd Battalion The Nova Scotia Highlanders (Cape Breton), and Sydney Garrison units, by The Honourable Clarence Lloyd Gosse, Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, circa 1978.

The Honourable Clarence Gosse was originally from Spaniard's Bay, Newfoundland and was Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia from 1973 to 1978. He graduated from the Dalhousie University medical school in 1939 and was a veteran of the Second World War. He served in the Canadian Army Medical Corps and was with one of the first surgical teams to operate in Normandy after D-Day.

The Honourable Clarence Lloyd Gosse, Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, presents a medal to Lt-Col. Ian Duncan Curry Macintyre, commanding officer of the 2nd Battalion The Nova Scotia Highlanders (Cape Breton).

On the right of the photo is Lt-Col. Al H. Mann, commanding officer of 35 (Sydney) Service Battalion.

Wearing the peaked cap in the background is Master Warrant Officer Earl O'Callaghan.

In the centre background is Pipe Major Danny MacIntyre.

On the far left, wearing a peaked cap and looking down, is Master Warrant Officer Earl O'Callaghan.
