The photo was taken on Maynard Street, outside the rear doors of the Halifax Armoury.
The commanding officer of "A" Company was Capt. G.E. Roberts.
The piper in the centre of the front row is Pte. Fraser Holmes, formerly of the 78th Pictou Regiment "Highlanders". In 1920 he was appointed pipe major of the Pictou Highlanders Pipe Band.
