Pictured above is an example of a matching pair of silver shoulder strap titles for the 246th Battalion. Each badge is one piece with three lugs on the back. They are flat backed except for the crown and thistles which are hollow backed. There is no manufacturer identified. Each badge measures approximately 36mm wide x 27mm high.
These badges were in a private Nova Scotia collection for over 40 years and are attributed to Lt-Col. Norval Henry Parsons, the commanding officer of the 246th Battalion. There is no known photo evidence of this style badge being worn by personnel of the 246th Battalion. It is possible this pair of badges were a prototype design or were privately made and purchased by Lt-Col. Parsons. It is not known if he wore them or not.
