1916-1917

Pictured above is an example of a one piece other rank cap badge for the 219th Battalion. The badge has two lugs on the back. There is no manufacturer identified. The badge measures approximately 53mm wide x 64mm high. The white residue appears to be the remains of a polishing material.

This particular badge belonged to Pte. Robert Alexander Muir who enlisted in the 219th Battalion and was later killed in action on June 19, 1917 while serving with the 85th Battalion (Nova Scotia Highlanders).
