Pictured above is an example of an other rank cap badge for the 106th Battalion. It appears to be constructed of a copper base metal with a pickled finish giving it a brownish colour. The badge is hollow backed with two lugs. There is no manufacturer identified. The badge measures approximately 42mm wide x 44mm high. There was a problem with the fabrication of this particular badge. Some of the outside edges of the maple leaf are doubled. It is believed the whitish coloured residue in some of the hollows may be the remains of a polishing material by the original owner of the badge.
