This section contains two newspaper clipping photos from the same paper, both pertaining to the Cape Breton Highlanders. The clippings date to the winter of 1940-1941. It is not clear whether the photos were taken in Cape Breton or in Saint John, NB. The Cape Breton Highlanders left Cape Breton for Saint John in January, 1941. The men in the clipping photos are definitely Cape Breton Highlanders, as evidenced by their cap badges, but the caption for one photo talks about Canadian soldiers defending Iceland. It is possible the photos were chosen for the caption simply because they showed Canadian troops in cold weather. The Cape Breton Highlanders were not in Iceland.
