The photo was taken at the base of Spring Garden Road with the view looking east toward the intersection of Barrington Street. Halifax Harbour in the far background. The large building on the far left is St. Mary's Basilica. The large light coloured building in the center of the photo is the Majestic Theatre. Members of the 25th Battalion's pipe band are visible at the head of the column.
